NFL Draft Update

Thanks to the number hours of footage provided by CI
partners and the many eyes and ears CI has out in the marketplace today, CI billed a record amount
of NFL Draft business this year.  Many of the licenses
came in the way of current CI accounts; however, with
the assistance of its partners, CI was able to "catch
several cheaters" in the world of NFL Draft coverage.

Since being alerted to such infringements, CI has addressed, drafted and signed the necessary paperwork with each infringing entity.  Each year we continue
to be stronger in this heavily covered and exploited
event.  We thank you again for all your help and hard
work in this education and enforcement initiative.

If you have any further questions on this matter, please contact Rich Routman.

Networks fight Cablevision

Cablevision has created a device called the "remote storage DVR" (or RS-DVR), that would allow people to
record a show, fast forward, rewind, and delete it when they want.  This technology is different from a TiVo or DVR because there is no physical device.  Instead of a box, there is a server at Cablevision, which would feed each customer's recorded shows back to them via cable lines and a regular digital box.  That’s where the discrepancy lays.  Networks and studios are arguing that Cablevision is giving their customers an on demand service, without paying the studios a Video On Demand licensing fee. As of a few weeks ago, Fox, NBC Universal, Paramount Pictures, CBS and Disney have taken Cablevision to a U.S. district court in hopes to put a stop to the RS-DVR this concept before it starts.
